I was born at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, MD on August 6, 1954. Mom never forgave Dad for that mistake! Ever since then, Mom and Dad, and my older sister have been constantly tripping over animals everywhere. Whether I bring them home from school or from different excursions I've gone on, there have always been animals in my life as far back as I remember.

Between all my schooling in MD, I was priviledged enough to be accepted in the U S Marine Corps in Nov 1975. After 8 weeks of boot camp in Parris Island, SC, I was stationed with VMA 542 at the Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, NC.

When I was released from the Marine Corps on April 8, 1978, I took a short trip (you could call it a leave of my senses), to Norwalk, CT from September 1978 to January 1979, when I promptly returned to New Bern, NC and parked my butt here permanently.

When I'm not at work, at the Naval Air Depot, I'm at home with my husband Ernie, about 80 exotic birds that we breed, a 5 year old Doberman mama, two one year old Doberman puppies, and a 1200 gallon fish pond with beautiful Koi. All the rest of the time, I have my nose stuck in my computer. Never a dull moment at our house!

Ernie and I founded the Coastal Carolina Bird Society in October 1995 that now boasts over 150 members across the United States, most residing in the general eastern seaboard area. I still publish a bi-monthly newsletter for this club and Ernie and I host several bird shows each year.

Below, you'll see pictures of some of the animals I have as pets. Just click on the little pic in the chart to see a bigger pic of the pet. If you'd like to see the beautiful birds we breed, I have them all posted at Ernie's GRRR-Animals, on his lory page.
